When Jesse Shwayder founded Samsonite® in 1910 in Denver, travel was once reserved for only an exclusive few, those who had the means to see the world. Given this exclusivity, travel was a high quality experience from the transportation, to the attention to service, to even the accessories used to carry one’s belongings.

SAMSON TRUNK

Where it all began. The first robust wooden trunk manufactured by the Shwayder Brothers.

STREAMLITE

An early use of cutting-edge technology - cladding lightweight lithograph paper to create ‘rawhide’ effect.

SILHOUETTE

The most advanced luggage of the time, including a new modern shape with recessed hardware to protect it from wear and tear.

SATURN

The first Samsonite polypropylene suitcase with injection-moulded shells.

SILHOUETTE UPGRADE

Two wheels were added to the 1958 Silhouette frame and the first case on wheels was born. The innovation transformed the luggage world - the point where cases got off the ground and started standing upright.

OYSTER

The first Samsonite suitcase with a three-point locking system.

XYLEM

The first Samsonite aluminium case was introduced.

FOUR WHEEL SPINNER

An innovation that improved mobility with wheels that can besteered in any direction and toted right alongside the traveler.

COLLABS

Samsonite collaborates with Alexander McQueen, Viktor & Rolf, Marc Newson.

The brand’s strongest and lightest collection yet, utilising innovative Curv® technology.

A minimalistic collection featuring an Aero-TracTM Suspension Wheel System that reduces noise and vibrations.

MAGNUM ECO

Crafted with recycled post-consumer waste: using recycled yoghurt cups for the shells and recycled PET bottles for the interior lining.
